Good questions, clear answers
Still deciding whether a PHSP fits your business? We can walk through it with you.
Ask us a questionA PHSP is a structured way for an eligible Canadian business to reimburse employees for qualifying health and dental expenses. The business can generally deduct eligible plan costs, while reimbursements are generally non-taxable to employees outside Quebec.
PHSPs can work for incorporated professionals, small businesses and growing teams that want flexible health benefits without fixed monthly insurance premiums. Eligibility and tax treatment depend on your business structure and circumstances.
Employees submit receipts for eligible expenses. Once a claim is reviewed and approved, EAJ requests the required funds from your corporation. After the funds are received, we reimburse the client by direct deposit and provide clear plan records for accounting purposes.
Eligibility follows the medical expense rules in Canada’s Income Tax Act. Common categories include dental, vision, prescriptions and services from many registered health practitioners. The legislation remains the source of record.
